Show #155 – Cycling – From Yarmouth to Halifax NS
In September of 1996, we had the opportunity to cycle from Yarmouth to Halifax in Nova Scotia. What a beautiful ride with scenic views and historical significance. Lunenburg is the home port of Bluenose II and birthplace of the original Bluenose which has appeared on the Canadian dime since 1937 as well as on three postage stamps and the Nova Scotia license plate. We also got the chance to cycle through Mahone Bay. The town’s habour is carved out of Nova Scotia’s craggy South Shore. It’s protected waters and magnificent vistas make it a popular sailing, kayaking, cycling and hiking destination. Then on to Peggy’s Cove to see the famous lighthouse and ending with a ride up to Citadel Hill in Halifax. What a great experience!
