When having a meal, fill up one quarter to one half of the plate with vegetables.
- At first, you may need to keep track of the number of servings you're eating each day on a calendar or a chart to make sure you're havingenough, and in no time, more colorful fruits and vegetables will just become part of your day.
- Eat at least one dark green and one orange vegetable each day.
- Choose vegetables and fruit prepared with little or no added fat, sugar, or salt.
- Eat vegetables and fruit at all meals and snacks.
